Tax Reporting & Compliance

Ensuring compliance and minimizing liability.

Effective March 16, 2020, all Glacier packets need to be submitted through the secure on-line file drop (below). Questions can be submitted to Tax Reporting and Compliance staff at
The IRS has issued a new W-4 form, retitled Employee’s Withholding Certificate, effective January 1, 2020. The new form and withholding calculation reflects the changes to the federal tax code from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which took effect 2019. Current employees are not required to resubmit an updated W-4.

The IRS has created a dedicated website with more information. Read more on UCNet.

The mission of the UC Davis Tax Reporting & Compliance unit is to minimize the university's tax liability and ensure compliance with institutional tax withholding and reporting obligations.

We consult with campus personnel and affiliates to resolve tax issues specific to departmental needs and manage audits by external tax authorities. Our team also serves as an internal tax advisor to central administrative units such as Accounts Payable, Accounting Services, Payroll, Purchasing, and Student Business Services.

  • All employee withholding is updated via the UCPath online portal. Tax Reporting and Compliance will no longer accept W-4/DE-4 or out of state withholding forms.
  • UC Davis Tax Reporting & Compliance still serves as the Glacier administrator for all Nonresident Payees. The campus local Glacier instance interfaces with UCPath nightly.
